Welcome to my fine art photography website. I appreciate your time and participation in what I consider one of the more important subjects, namely "art". my view of photography

I do not find it easy to write about myself but I thought I’d give it a try and not just present a list of the past, present and future. I’ve been practicing art photography now for nearly thirty years. Photography has been in my blood since youth and was rediscovered later. As time passed by, my interest in photography was always present; sometimes in the foreground, sometimes lurking quietly in the back of my mind. Always photography has played a large role in my seeking truth around me and providing insights to my reality.

Recently I have come to understand that the beauty and essence of life is in the moments lived and truly experienced. My belief in that is enforced whenever I look at the works of master photographers such as Minor White, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward Steichen, Edward Weston and Paul Strand, just to name a few. Their photographs express eternity through their moments.

As any other art form, photography is about transcending reality and presenting very personal views that prod and stimulate both senses and thought. This is what I am striving to create in my work. Starting with universally familiar subjects, which I endeavour to capture in their simple and spontaneous form, I strive to create a unique and somewhat unexpected image.

I believe that as an artist I have an obligation to assist the viewer to see with different eyes and in a different light. Before I can fulfil that obligation, I myself have to become aware and see, feel, sense. Developing a sensitivity necessary to master the art of capturing the essence of every moment is my ongoing study and exercise: my musings.
